Payroll Specialist

Dynamic, progressive and growing Salem CPA firm is currently Seeking a staff bookkeeper/payroll specialist for a full time position that offers a variety of bookkeeping and payroll processing assignments. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience, minimum of two accounting classes on bookkeeping and payroll, expertise in QuickBooks® software (Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor) and experience with various payroll programs and payroll service providers. Responsibilities would include bookkeeping and consulting using QuickBooks® software and Payroll processing and reporting. Requirements include pleasant and upbeat professional demeanor, positive customer service skills, and attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and a team player who is trustworthy and discrete. Certified Public Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complex individual, corporate, partnership and other tax returns
  • Assist clients with tax and accounting questions
  • Communicate with clients providing tax planning and tax savings strategies
  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.
  • Preparation of Financial statements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Team player
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing and able to work directly with clients
  • Experience with QuickBooks and Lacerte tax software a plus
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
